RITSON'S BAR | |

Ritson's Bar. (The Wasdale Head Inn is no longer (2010) connected with its ex-micro brewery (Great Gable brewing company <website>). A range of beers are/were brewed: "Great Gable" 3.7% (the "session" beer), "Wasd'Ale" 4.4% (our favourite), "Wry'Nose" 4.0% (summer brew), "Scawfell" 4.8% (IPA style), "Yewbarrow" (nee Yulebarrow) the dark strong one at 5.5%, brewed with a little honey and a secret fruit ingredient, "Illgill IPA" 5%, "Burnmoor" old fashioned pale ale 4.2%, brewed with three types of hop. "Liar" is a light mild by Mike, who had joined the brewing team for a time. "Prickly Bee" is a refreshing light beer with a touch of honey). Great Gable beers are now produced in Egremont. In January 2010 Ritson's bar was stocking a range of other local real ales. |
