A
photographic guide to the lakeland fells The Northern Fells, Skiddaw
and
Blencathra
Skiddaw and Blencathra are two great hills, slightly marred by the close proximity of the A66. Don't approach Skiddaw from the tourist car-park, go round to the north and come over Ullock Pike. Blencathra has half a dozen good ridges. The best are undoubtedly Sharp Edge and Halls Fell or Narrow Edge. The two can be combined in a single day with a little devious route planning. Mungrisedale Common probably qualifies as the dullest "Wainwright" summit. Blencathra is one of the most beautiful mountains in the ELD, in my opinion. Back
