Going anticlockwise the the route starts "behind" the Wasdale Head and crosses the river at the second bridge, after a short climb up through a gate, Mosedale is revealed, with Yewbarrow's Dore Head and Red Pike on the left, Pillar looming ahead and Kirk Fell on the right.
